Advanced Electric Vehicle Design Engineering

Course Syllabus

ICE and Electric Power train

In this module, the objective is to familiarize the student with both the traditional (ICE) and electric power train concepts. While Electric Vehicles will eventually make it to the market, the ICE will always be continuously optimized and researched. When you finish the first two modules, you will be quite familiar with the following topics.

Performance Calculations

Understanding the key performance indicators is essential to understanding any thermal system. Learning these will help you understand the entire Vehicle Development Process

Electric Vehicle Architecture

Most of the students must be familiar with how an I.C. Engine operates. When it comes to electric vehicles a thorough understanding of the various sub-systems is important in getting a holistic understanding of the system.

Battery Module System Design

The design of the BMS determines the driving range of the vehicle. Understanding the various design aspects of the BMS will help in engineering it perfectly.

Control Systems

In real-world conditions, a hybrid power train employs a lot of electronics to switch back and forth between the two power trains. This is employed using the application of control systems.

Course Description for Advanced Electric Vehicle Design Engineering

After going through this course the student will be able to:

  • Develop sound training in subject-specific skills and knowledge, together with the skills required for lifelong learning so you will be well prepared for a range of careers.
  • There is an emphasis on the development of new technologies that will be utilized in engine systems, with a specific focus on electric vehicles.
  • Develop both a theoretical and practical understanding of how these technologies will be used in the automotive industry.

Eligibility

  • Passed Graduate/ Diploma Engineer or Graduate/Post Graduate examination with Science and Mathematics or its equivalent
  • Preference will be given to candidates working in the Automotive/ Related energy sector.
  • Admission for this course will be conducted in TWO PHASES for the convenience of International and upcountry students.

Please note that ONCE SEATS ARE FILLED IN THE FIRST PHASE, ADMISSION FOR THE SECOND PHASE WILL NOT BE HELD.
